It's natural to feel a sense of urgency when facing an unexpected pregnancy, but you don't have to make a decision without support. While some pregnancy options have timeframes that are important to be aware of, taking the time to understand your circumstances, gather accurate information and consider your own values can help you make an informed decision. At Zoe's Place, we're here to provide a safe, caring space to talk things through, without pressure or judgement. You don't have to navigate this alone.

While we use the term “counselling,” your appointment is simply a safe, caring space to share your story, ask questions and talk through what’s on your mind. There’s no pressure or judgement. We offer flexible appointments, whether face-to-face at one of our locations, over the phone or via video call. Our team provides unbiased, evidence-based information and support to help you explore your options in light of your own circumstances and values. We’re here to listen, understand what matters to you and ask, “How can we best support you?”

Abortion can involve medication or a surgical procedure, and both have potential side effects and risks that are important to understand.

Medical abortion, commonly known as the abortion pill, involves taking two medications. Bleeding and cramping are expected and can be heavier and more painful than a normal period. Other common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness and fatigue. Bleeding may continue for several days or longer.

Complications can include excessive or prolonged bleeding, incomplete abortion, infection or the need for further medical treatment, including a surgical procedure.

Emotional experiences can also vary. Some people feel relief, while others may experience sadness, grief, anxiety or a combination of emotions. Everyone's experience is different.

At Zoe's Place, we believe you deserve accurate, evidence-based information about all aspects of your pregnancy options, including potential physical and emotional considerations.

Our caring, non-judgemental team provides a safe space to ask questions, explore your circumstances and make an informed decision that reflects your own values.

All appointments at Zoe's Place are free and confidential.

A missed period can be one of the earliest signs of pregnancy. Other common symptoms include tender breasts, fatigue, nausea, changes in appetite or food preferences, and sometimes light spotting. Everyone is different, and these symptoms don't necessarily mean you're pregnant. The most reliable way to find out is to take a pregnancy test, usually from the day your period is due. If the result is negative but your period still hasn't arrived, consider testing again in a few days. At Zoe's Place, we offer free pregnancy tests for collection or by mail if you're having difficulty accessing one. We're also here to provide free, confidential support if you're feeling unsure or overwhelmed. You don't have to navigate this alone.

Whether your pregnancy was planned or unexpected, it's natural to experience a mix of emotions. You might feel excited, anxious, uncertain or completely overwhelmed, sometimes all at once. Advice and opinions from friends, family or online sources can add to the confusion. At Zoe's Place, we offer a safe, caring space to pause, talk through your feelings and explore your options without pressure or judgement. Our team is here to listen, answer your questions and provide information and support that reflects your individual circumstances and values. Our appointments are free, confidential and available face-to-face, by phone or video call. You don't have to navigate this alone.
